Small Changes Make The BIGGEST Impact!

Crater from a big impactThere are many people who have tried to build their network marketing business with a website or a blog but they have yet to achieve success. They make a lot of mistakes because they do not understand the principles.

Did you know that there are many little things that you can do to your website, blog, sales letter or product that can drastically affect the size of your bank account?

You see, there are a gagillion and one products available on the Internet – and so is the Internet population! Making money online is all about the numbers. Because an Internet marketer can have hundreds to thousands of visitors visiting his website everyday, even the smallest changes can increase their profits dramatically.

Just take a look at the math.

A small tweak in a marketer’s email headline will cause an additional 2% to open the E-mail (Let’s assume the list size is about 50,000). If his ‘open rate’ used to be about 10%, an additional 2% would get at least an extra 1,000 pairs of new eyeballs reading your E-mail!

But that is just the E-mail marketing aspect. What we want to do is to make our website convert like crazy! Imagine if among that additional 1,000 people, you are able to sell at least a thousand extra dollars worth of E-products to them by making minor tweaks to your website?

Imagine… if you are doing this OVER AND OVER AGAIN?

What's Your Home-Based Business Plan?

Home-Business Plan diagramStarting a home-based business is a very important decision, and there are some typical home-based business resources you’ll need to have in order to succeed. So in this post we are going to go over a few basic assets, services and systems you’ll need to make your home-based business run smoothly.

So, to start a successful home-based business, what resources and steps do you need to take?

- A good plan

This is a step most network marketers miss – have a clearly laid out business plan. Without a business plan and goals to achieve, then you can not get anywhere. A business plan, even if it’s just written down on a slip of paper will help you map out what you need to succeed and how you’ll achieve your goals.

- Research

Whatever your home-based business will need, you’ll need to be well informed about it. So you’ll need to do some research so that you become an expert on the niche, product or service. Knowledge about the business is an important resource for home-based business owners, so you must do the necessary research to be well-informed about the industry or product/service.

- Office space

As we discussed in the previous post you will need to set up a dedicated base for your home office. Your office is a very important because it helps separate life from business which increases productivity. In your office, generally you’ll need a computer, printer, internet access, fax, telephone, business cards and a conducive work environment.

Keep in mind that sometimes you’ll be working long hours, especially in the beginning, so your work space needs to be comfortable. A suitable desk, comfortable chair and appropriate lighting are very important and often taken for granted. Allocate some money towards setting up a working environment that will promote productivity and you’ll enjoy your time in the office much more!

- Capital

Money to cover capital outlay and running costs is important. Even if you’re starting out on a shoestring budget it would require some form of investment, and you’ll need to know how much you have, and how much investments and ongoing marketing your business will need to stay afloat until it begins to generate a solid income.

- Support system

Your support system can be a coach, mentor, someone with a similar business, or simply your family and friends. You need to have people close to you who will encourage you and give you any support you need. You can also join your local Chamber of Commerce, online communities and forums of people in the same industry as your own. A good support network is a very important home-based business resource.

- Customers

Business leads and clients are a crucial home-based business resource. Making and creating contacts and networking is very important, because no customers equals no income. You need to start building your potential client base before you launch your business. Start marketing your business by giving away some products and services. By creating a relationship with your potential customers, you build trust with them, and when you launch your business, it will be easy for them to buy from you.

- Be professional

The way you run your business and relate to your customers is very important. Be prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ with your customers. Care about your customers, and provide all the information they may need.

- Get help

Hire any professional help you may need. Treat your business professionally, and if you need the services of a lawyer or accountant, hire one. It’s more productive and effective to hire skilled professionals to do what you don’t have the time or skills to do it yourself. If you want your business to be successful, it’s important not to overload yourself with time consuming tasks or projects that can be easily outsourced. It’s also more cost effective in the end, because it leaves you free to focus on growing your business.

How To Get More Engagement From Your Emails

Under promise and over deliverE-Mail Marketing Tactic #24: Trim Down Your Emails

Try not to include too much in your emails. Flash and java are both great and can do wonders for websites, but not only does it seem too much for a simple email, many web mail and other servers simply will not display videos, etc in emails. Use creative graphics and interesting information to draw in new customers, but save the unprompted videos for your home page, or include a link to the videos within the email.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #25: Include Your Physical Address

Be sure to include your business’ street address in your emails. This is United States law, and it makes you look much more professional. Your current business address should be included in ALL correspondence including emails, invoices, and letters. If your customer prefers to respond or reach you by mail, they can do so easily by having this information readily available.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #26: Under-Promise, Over-Deliver

Always make you’re your promotion or whatever it is you are attempting to sell lives up to the emails you send. If you are offering a certain discount, make sure the code you provide is working on your website in advance. Never try to upsell customers and then let them down by having non-working promotional codes, or by adding a whole lot of stipulations in your promo once they get to the landing page.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #27: Do Not Buy Email Lists

Instead, rely on your current customers passing the word on, or emails you send as teasers or introductory emails. You can also promote your email lists on your website and the odds are that interested parties will sign up there. Email lists that you buy are typically either unreliable because they have non-valid email addresses, or you are most likely reaching a demographic that does not fit your niche. In addition, people who end up getting your emails because their address is on a list may be offended by the intrusion.

Get Your Emails Read with These Tactics

Unsubscribe ButtonE-Mail Marketing Tactic #20: Allow Your Emails to be Read in a Separate Tab

Allow the option of emails that can pop up in a separate window. This way, someone can “save” your email in another window and refer back to it later.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #21: Double-Check the Reply Address

Do not forget that a lot of people probably plan on responding to your emails. Be sure the sending email address is a valid reply-to address. This way, people who have specific questions can easily reach you. Do not forget to frequently check and reply to your emails!

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #22: Allow Readers to Unsubscribe

Always, always, ALWAYS include the unsubscribe option in every email. Sometimes, people simply receive too many emails and can no longer receive yours on a regular basis. While this happens sometimes, remember that you don’t like to get too many emails you do not read either. Not everyone you contact will be a match for your company or e-commerce website.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #23: Confirm Unsubscribes

Confirm your unsubscribes, and let them know you are sorry to see them go. Remind them that they can always sign back up later if they prefer. This is not only the polite way to handle people who decide they no longer want your emails, but it also leaves them with a pleasant memory and the opportunity to change their minds later on down the line.

Email Tactics 16 - 19

Email marketing statsE-Mail Marketing Tactic #16: Keep Track of Your Current Stats

Use a variety of software to look at different aspects of your emails such as how many click through emails you are getting, how many people actually go from the email, to your site, and then on to make a purchase, and how many people opt in after getting an “introductory” email. By keeping track and stats, you will be able to gauge how successful your marketing campaigns are.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #17: Customize Your Bulk Emails

Even if you send out several hundred or even several thousand emails to customers every week or month, adding a bit of a custom feel can help people feel more comfortable. Try to use software that will include the person’s name in the emails. For example if John Doe signs up on your site, when he gets an email it says, “Dear John” or “Dear Mr. Doe,” so it has a more personal feel to it. This type of marketing has shown repeatedly to make a huge difference in end result sales.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #18: Use a Table of Contents if Need

If your message is long, use a table of contents or break the message down into segments. Longer, content ridden emails should be broken down into a newspaper style or even a book style so that the reader can skim through and skip to the sections he or she is most interested in. In cases like this, be sure to let the reader know the sign up link is featured at the beginning and end of the email.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #19: Give Readers Formatting Options

Use the option to include a plain text version versus the HTML version of the emails in case some people prefer it.

Email Tactics - Professional, Personal, and Facebook

Facebook logoHopefully, you started to incorporate the previous tactics into your email campaigns. If you haven’t, you should give them a try. In the meantime, here are a few more to consider.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #12: Make Welcome Back Offers

Make welcome back or come back offers to the people who either have not made a purchase in a while, or only make one every so often. These special emails usually offer the customer a special deal for making a purchase because they have not done so in a set amount of time. How long you want to wait until you make this kind of offer is up to you. In other cases, if someone comes back and gives you their hard earned money, you can always send them a “welcome back” email to entice them to return again.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #13: Stay as Professional as Possible

While you want your emails to be entertaining and engaging, it’s key to remain as professional as possible. Be sensitive to your demographic. Always spell check and grammar check your emails. Make your emails clear and express to the customer or potential customer the exact purpose of the email without sounding pushy.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #14: Refer to your Facebook Link Several Times

Reiterate your sign up or Facebook links several times throughout the email. Include it at the beginning and the end if possible. Try not to make it obnoxious or overwhelming, but make it easy for people to click and enroll in your email newsletters, sales announcements, or other contacts.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #15: Be Personal

If you can, try to send out some personal emails to clients. Ask how they are doing, and see if there is anything you can possibly do to assist them with their business or personal needs in terms of your own company. Find out what they feel is lacking on your end, and determine just what it is you can do to improve their experience. By getting personal, you gain better insight into your clients’ individual needs and can better adapt everything as you see fit. Once you’ve established an email relationship, it should much easier to get them to sign up for more current, generalized emails.

Social Networking, Spamming, and other Email Marketing Tactics

Email marketing tactics workHere are the next few tips on how to maximize your email marketing.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #4: Use Social Networking to Your Advantage

Facebook is all the rage, so be sure to include a reminder to have your email readers click “like” for your company on Facebook. You can easily include this link inside of the email, so all they have to do is click the icon or link, and it takes them right to Facebook with the option to click on the like button. Facebook is currently showing a valuable asset and additional help to businesses all over the world.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #5: Include Fun, Informative Content in Your Emails

You do not have to make every single email a sales pitch. Instead, include some interesting information about your product, how it can be used, or another topic closely related to your business. If your email subscribers tend to get nothing but sales letters, they may begin deleting them. However, if those emails make for an interesting read, they might just press onward and even go to the website and make purchases or ask questions.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #6: Take Advantage of the Holidays

The holidays, especially major ones, are a good time to market your product or service. Use this to your advantage in emails by creating special, holiday and email only discounts. You can get creative by offering special holiday related items, or just have sales during select times of the year.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #7: Avoid Spamming

If a customer makes a purchase on your website but does not opt in to being on your email list, do not send them emails or add them to the list unsolicited. This is a sure fire way to turn someone off, and have them spread the word about your spam emails. Instead, offer for people to join the list on their own when they are

on the home page, inside of the shopping cart, or at check out. You never want to make customers feel as if the emails they are receiving are forced.

Email Marketing Tactics

Obviously, the World Wide Web has opened up a new world to business. In fact, e-commerce has become a mainstay for national retail chains, small businesses, and large corporations across the globe. Without Internet access and the world of web-sales, many businesses could stand to lose millions of dollars in revenue per year.

Email marketing tactics workThanks to the Internet, marketing methods have also adapted and changed in the last two decades. Banner ads, flash videos, and other methods are popping up like wildfire on websites all over the place. But the one tried and true method that seems to work better and surpass all others is email marketing.

This form of marketing reaches the customer directly, and can be custom created to fit the shopper’s needs based on past history, personal preference, and much more. While email marketing is an excellent way to garner new customers and maintain old ones, there are some very important things every business needs to know. Over the course of the next few posts I’m going to give you some great tips to getting more people to open up that email every time you send it.

Let’s start with the first three -

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #1: Publicize Big Sales

Tell your email subscribers whenever a big sale is approaching. Don’t hold off until the last minute, however. Give your email list members a reasonable heads-up, and then send an additional reminder or two prior to the big sale day. In case the sale extends over a few days, make sure to let them know this too. In case a promotion code needs to be used, make absolutely sure it’s included in the email.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #2: Use Powerful Subject Lines

The subject is the thing that helps people decide whether they hit the delete button automatically or if they actually click open, and read the email. Without an interesting or intriguing subject line, customers may not even bother. Think of something clever that will capture their attention making them desire to open the email. Use creative one-liners or fun catch phrases. You can also cut right to the chase and say something like: 50% Off All Products For The Next 72 Hours! Another powerful way is by asking a question like: Did you download your free report yet? The point is, if it makes the reader open the email, then the subject line has done its job.

E-Mail Marketing Tactic #3: Make the Call to Action Clear

To put it differently, always tell your customers what you expect of them, and what they can expect of you. Whether it’s a sale with free shipping if they purchase $25 or more worth of products, or a free promo offer or item if they attend a local event, you need to make the message clear. Any “fine print” should always be out in the open so the reader knows any details or other provisions they have to meet well in advance.

Build Trust and Make Money

Trust builds confidenceThere is no doubt in my mind that in order to achieve any degree of long-term success as a network marketer you must take the time to build trust with your customers. Building trust is such an important part of running any business and can have a huge impact on your overall success, but the sad fact is a lot of business owners don’t realize how important it is.

As a matter of fact, once you position yourself as a trustworthy authority in your marketplace you will be amazed at how fast your profits will increase and your business will grow.

For the most part trust is built by establishing a personal connection with your target audience. This can be done in many different ways like email, instant messaging, social networking etc.

When it comes to building your own online trust there are a few basic areas that you should focus your attention on.

First Impressions

When doing business online it is extremely important that you make a strong first impression on your potential customers. Most of the time this is done from your website or blog. When they first hit your website you have to make sure that they are presented with a page that looks professional and is easy to navigate.

Be sure to provide your new visitors with timely and relevant information that will catch their attention immediately. It is also very important that you include multiple ways for them to contact and interact with you. With the multitude of social media tools available today is extremely easy to open a line of communication with your visitors. Allowing you to connect with them in a way that makes them feel at ease.

Long Term Connections

In today’s crowded marketplace is more important than ever to focus your attention on building long-term connections with your customers and clients. While making quick sales is always a nice boost to your bank account the key to long-term success is repeat business.

Repeat business equals stability and the key to getting repeat business is to establish a lasting connection with your customers. when it comes to keeping your customers coming back for more it is important to remember that people buy from people not from companies.

So make sure you let them know that there are real people behind the curtain, so to speak. You can do this by creating an “about us” page and providing them with the story behind your company, include a mission statement and some appropriate business related photos.

Social Proof

Another important factor to consider when building online trust is social proof. Social proof is a great tool for building online credibility and can be a very effective way to develop your company brand, which also helps build trust.

The best way to establish social proof is by using endorsements, testimonials and case studies. They are a great way verify and demonstrate to your potential customers that your product does what you say it does and that it has helped other people.

While there are many other ways that you can build trust with your online visitors, if you take the time to focus on making a good first impression, establishing long- term connections and providing social proof you will be sure that you’re building trust and laying a solid foundation for your business to grow on.

Network Marketing Forums (Part 2)

Network marketing forum signAfter you have registered and set up your profile and your signature line you should take a few days to lurk around the forum before you begin to post. Examine the posts and get a feel for the other members’ thoughts, ideas and questions. It is also very important that you take time to acquaint yourself with the rules of the forum.

  • It’s time to start posting.

After you have lurked around for a while it will be time to start posting. Begin by responding to the other members’ questions and concerns. Do not by any means start out posting by instantly promoting your business. This can have a negative impact on the opinion other members have of you and blatant advertising can get you banned from the forum. Remember you want people to notice you not ignore you. You will want to focus on building your reputation on the forum.

Starting with your very first post, you can begin to build your reputation as an expert on the topics being discussed. The first and most important thing you should do is introduce yourself. Then begin to help other members with their problems and quickly answer their questions.

Keep in mind that the more respect you earn in the forum the more visits you will get to your website and the more sales you will make.

As I mentioned above most forums do no permit members to promote their products or services inside the post itself. This is considered spamming and it may get your post deleted and you may also be banned from the forum.

There are many excellent reasons why forum marketing is so effective for many online marketers. Whenever you post, you have the golden opportunity to help another person that might have a problem or perhaps a question. This will not only give you a feeling of satisfaction that you have done something to help someone else, it will also help you build a good reputation on the forum.

The basic unspoken rule is that if you give to another member then you shall receive when they click on your signature line and go to your website.

Another side benefit of joining a forum is that you will find plenty of valuable and very useful information that you can use to build your business. As you read posts by other members you will be amazed at how much free information that you’ll receive. This information can be an invaluable resource to improve your forum marketing strategy.

As you begin to post on the forum many people will be able to see your signature line and click on it, which will lead them straight to your website. This form of free advertising can add up to a nice amount of free traffic as well as potential sales from forum members.

Another benefit is that search engines such as Google like forums and whenever you create a hyperlink to your website from the you will get a nice backlinks. These backlinks will increase your position in the search engine results and the higher you are ranked on the search engine the more traffic you will generate outside of the forum. This will, consequently, lead to even more sales for your business.

So as you can see forum marketing is a fantastic method with a lot of extra added benefits that you can use to promote your business.

Network Marketing Forums (Part 2)

Forum Marketing (Part 1)

Dart targeting forumForum marketing is a great way that many network marketers are already using to sell their products and services online. In fact it is a very popular and widely used free marketing method that can yield extraordinary results when used properly.

It holds many benefits and it costs virtually nothing but time to implement. It just takes a little bit of know how to get started and you will begin seeing positive results fairly quickly.

Basically a forum is a community of people, sort of like a neighborhood where the other members are your neighbors. People often use online forums as a way of coming together to discuss a particular topic or problem. As a forum marketer you should use forums to get information, ask questions, make connections, as well as for promoting yourself and your business.

The basic rule of thumb when it comes to forum marketing is that you never jump right in and immediately start promoting your business. This is considered bad manners and will actually drive your potential customers in the opposite direction.

Before you begin to promote your product or service on any forum, you will need to establish yourself as a member of the community. There are three basic steps involved in this process.

  • First you need to find a forum and register as a member.

When looking for a forum to join you will want to find one that is centered around a topic that is closely related to the product or service that you are planning to promote.

After you have found a forum that you want to and have registered, you should take some time to create a profile page about yourself. This should include a good description about yourself and your business. You will want to pay special attention when crafting your signature file, because it will be at the bottom of every post that you make and it is vital to the success of your campaign.

vMail Marketing for your Networking Business

Video email marketingVmail (video email) marketing will work for virtually any business, no matter how big or small. It can be used to attract more customers, increase brand awareness and to make more sales.

When it comes to running an effective vmail marketing campaign there are few basic rules you should follow:

  • Before you begin any vmail marketing campaign make sure that you are compliant with the CAN-SPAM laws. You can find them at: http://www.business.ftc.gov

  • Never send unsolicited e mail (spam) – always make sure that your recipients have opted in to receive your vmail messages.

  • Give your readers a clear options for managing their subscription and unsubscribing.

The most important part of any vmail marketing campaign is building a responsive mailing list. This list is a collection of email addresses from people in your ideal target market, people that are asking you to send them information and offers by vmail. Many online marketers make all of their income just by sending vmail messages to their opt-in lists.

Imagine how great it must feel to send out a vmail and in an hour or two have your inbox full of new affiliates. It is very possible, especially when you take the time to employ basic email marketing and list building strategies.

When it comes to building your own list the first thing you should do if you want people to give you their email address is to make it very easy for them. If you have a website or blog add a subscription form to all of the main pages. Make it highly visible and offer your visitors something of real value in exchange for joining your list.

If you don’t have a website or blog you may want to consider setting one up just for your list building campaign, especially if you want to build a big list. If setting up a site isn’t for you there are other methods that you can use, you will just have to get more creative when it comes to collecting email address.

Above all else keep it simple! Keep in mind that people are busy and easily sidetracked, which means you don’t want to make them giving you their email address something that they have to think too much about or work too hard to do. The general rule is, the easier you make it the more email addresses you will collect!

If you have an existing customer base make it a top priority to get an email address from everyone that makes a purchase from you. Whether it’s during the sales process or after the purchase of one of your products make sure that you ask your customers for their email address. The optimum time to do this is before the purchase is completed because they will think it is part of the process.

It is very important to always remember that your customer must give you permission to send them promotional vmails. Asking them for an email address as part of the sales process does not give you permission to add them to any other mailing list or bombard them with promotional vmails. That can lead to spam complaints and you don’t want that. What it does do is give you the opportunity to follow up with them, ask how they liked the product or service and then entice them to join your regular mailing list.

There are many ways that you can entice people to join your mailing list.

Here are a few quick ideas that you can use:

  • Give them a free gift or a discount on their next purchase when they subscribe.

  • Send them to a webpage where they can download a free ebook, report or software related to the product they purchased.

  • Give them a chance to win a prize, by holding a free contest or sweepstakes for subscribers only

  • Offer them free customer support and vmail consulting.

  • Have them fill out a survey and give them a free gift as an incentive to complete the form.

There are many ways that you can entice people to join your mailing list and by focusing on these core strategies you will be well on your way to building a responsive list for your business. The simple fact is that vmail marketing is essential for any business. Once you have a list, and begin building a relationship with your subscribers they will have more confidence in you and your business. Just make sure that you provide them with information that they will find helpful and beneficial.

Attitude and Influence

Attitude is everythingA big share of our life is going to be shaped by attitude and by influence. Also the people around us. Good questions to ask yourself:  ”Who am I around?  And what are they doing to me?  And is that okay?”  Those are three major questions.  Who am I around?  What are they doing to me?  And is that okay?  Next, “What do they have me reading?  Where have they got me going?  What have they got me doing? Those people I’m around.  How have they got me thinking and behaving?”  That’s a good, mature analysis.  Who am I around and what are they doing to me?  And is that okay?  And if it’s okay, fine; if it isn’t okay, change it. You must.

Association can make all the difference in the world in your future.  We have to practice limited association.  Some people you can be around a few hours, but not a few days.   And some people you can be around a few minutes, but not a few hours.  And then some people you have to walk away from.

And it’s helpful if somebody comes along and helps in a moment of stress and distress and offers a book or offers some advice and that person just says, “I’ll be here when you need me.” Sometimes you don’t need somebody to come live with you or be right there to hold your hand.  But as long as you know that person is available, if it gets a little tougher, call, things like that.  That’s very valuable.  And if you have some good friends, you know that they’ll be there.

Attitude and Influence

Social Media Network Marketing

Our previous post talked about pay per click advertising and how it can benefit your network marketing business. In this issue we are going to talk about social network marketing and what makes it such a powerful online marketing tactic for business.

Social media logosSocial network marketing is rapidly changing the way that people do business online. It doesn’t matter whether you have a traditional off-line business or your business is completely built online. You can use the power of social network marketing to increasing brand awareness, attract more customers and increase your profits faster than ever before.

With millions of people logging into online social networks every day, it only makes sense that business owners big and small have learned how to take full advantage of the moneymaking potential on these massive networks.

Social network marketing is an extremely powerful tactic that can literally put you and your business in front of hundreds of thousands of targeted, engaged consumers faster than any other advertising media available. It can help you connect and build long- term customer and business relationships that would not have been as easily attainable a few short years ago.

With Facebook being one of the largest and most powerful social networks online it only makes sense that there are hundreds of marketing tools available that can help you market your business on their social platform. In fact, many of these tools are provided by Facebook, themselves. While others are created by outside developers.

These tools can provide you with a wide variety of options, including the ability to add friends to your account automatically, get likes for your page faster and even run contests to create buzz for your business.

Did you know that there are more 5.6 billion mobile phone users on the planet today and the majority of them have some type of Facebook or social media application on their smart phones?

Facebook filters make it easy for businesses to connect with people around the world or in their own local area with the simple tic of a box. This filtering makes it possible for business owners to reach certain demographics of people at certain times with a specifically targeted marketing message. Making it possible for businesses to target their market in a whole new way.

Twitter is another great platform for social network marketing. Even though you are limited to 140 characters per message savvy marketers have found a way to utilize Twitter for their own personal gains. One of the main ways that marketers take advantage of Twitter is by targeting their messages with specific keywords. Google loves Twitter, so by crafting the message properly they can be assured that their message will show up in the Google search results.

Just like Facebook there are wide variety of tools and applications that can be used to enhance Twitter marketing campaigns. These apps can do everything from automatically add followers to your account, set up automated Tweets, send out messages or add twitter feeds to your websites and Facebook pages, allowing you to post across a variety of platforms at the same time.

But, Facebook and Twitter aren’t the only game in town when it comes to marketing your business on social networks. Just do a simple search online for popular social networks and you will find a multitude of other options including LinkedIn, Google +, LiveJournal and more.

There is no doubt that the power of social networking marketing is changing the way that people do business online or that it can be harnessed by any business that savvy enough to take full advantage of everything that these massive networks have to offer.

What I've Learned

They’re written by Andy Rooney , a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words. Enjoy…….

I’ve learned… That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I’ve learned… That when you’re in love, it shows.

I’ve learned… That just one person saying to me, ‘You’ve made my day!’ makes my day.

I’ve learned… That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I’ve learned… That being kind is more important than being right.

I’ve learned… That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I’ve learned… That I can always pray for someone when I don’t have the strength to help him in some other way.

I’ve learned… That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I’ve learned… That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I’ve learned… That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I’ve learned… That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I’ve learned… That we should be glad God doesn’t give us everything we ask for.

I’ve learned… That money doesn’t buy class.

I’ve learned… That it’s those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I’ve learned… That under everyone’s hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I’ve learned… That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I’ve learned… That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I’ve learned… That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I’ve learned… That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I’ve learned… That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I’ve learned… That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I’ve learned… That life is tough, but I’m tougher.

I’ve learned… That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss. I’ve learned…. That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I’ve learned… That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.

I’ve learned… That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I’ve learned… That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I’ve learned… That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you’re hooked for life.

I’ve learned… That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.

I’ve learned… That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

The Future of HOW We Communicate

PPC for you MLM

In the last post we talked about using link building as an online traffic tactic. In this issue we are going to talk about pay per click advertising and how this powerful online marketing tactic can benefit your business.

Pay Per ClickPay per click (PPC) is a paid advertising method that is used to target consumers and direct traffic to websites, products and services. Advertisers pay the publisher a certain amount of money every time the ad is clicked on by one of their visitors.

How it works:

- Advertisers (in this case you) bid on keywords and phrases that are relevant to their target market.

- Publishers (website owners) show the ads on their websites via pay per click search engines, like Google Adwords.

When it comes to a fast return on your investment, pay per click advertising can generate almost immediate traffic to your website and help increase your profits very quickly when you utilized properly.

Pay per click or pay per view ads can be used to effectively drive traffic to your website or to directly promote your products and services. As with any other online marketing tactic, pay per click advertising has a bit of a learning curve and is not for the faint of heart.

- If you don’t know what you’re doing you can spend a lot of money with little or no result.

- On the other hand, if you do know what you’re doing and you run your campaigns effectively, you can start seeing your profit margin increase substantially in a very short amount of time.

While there are several places that you can run your pay per click advertising campaigns Google Adwords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and most recently most recently Facebook Ads are among the most popular places to start a campaign.

When it comes to launching a successful PPC campaign there are three main components involved:

- Relevant content

- Keyword selection

- Campaign monitoring

The goal of any pay per click campaign is to introduce targeted consumers to your products and services. The content of your ad copy is an extremely important part of this process. You need to make sure that it is relevant to your market, enticing and encourages them to take action and click on your ad.

Keyword selection is critical. Consumers conduct online searches using specific keywords to find what they are looking for. Your ads will show alongside the search results as well as on webpages according to the keywords you’ve chosen. The better your keywords are targeted to those consumers the more successful your PPC campaign will be.

You will want to make sure that you closely monitor your PPC campaigns, so that you can track successful ads and eliminate poor performing ad copy and keywords. Pay per click networks include powerful tracking software that will help you monitor every aspect of your campaign. This can help you evaluate each ad individually and effectively increase your return on investment (ROI).

When it comes to running a PPC campaign you can either choose to do the work yourself or you can hire a PPC specialist get the job done for you. Companies that specialize in PPC management and search engine marketing are fairly easy to find. Just do a search online and you will presented with a wide variety of options. Look for companies that are both certified and reputable. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and check their references.

Before you decide to hire a PPC specialist you will want to make sure you have a basic understanding of what they can do for you, how much you are willing to invest and whether or not they guarantee you will see results for your investment.

Whether you choose to run your PPC campaigns yourself or hire a specialist, PPC marketing can be an excellent way to start seeing traffic and profits for your network marketing business in a very short amount of time.

A Professional

(by Judge Elbert Tuttle)

Professional business womanThe professional is in essence one who provides service. But the service the render is something more than that of the laborer, even the skilled laborer. It is a service that wells up from the entire complex of their personality. True, some specialized and highly developed techniques may be included, but their mode of expression is given its deepest meaning by the personality of the practitioner. In a very real sense their professional service cannot be separate from their personal being. They have no goods to sell, no land to till. Their only asset is themselves. It turns out that there is no right price for service, for what is a share of a persons worth? If they do not contain the quality of integrity, they are worthless. If they do, they are priceless. The value is either nothing or it is infinite.

So do not try to set a price on yourselves. Do not measure out your professional services on an apothecaries’ scale and say “Only this for so much.” Do not debase yourselves by equating your souls to what they will bring on the market. Do not be a miser, hoarding your talents and abilities and knowledge, either among yourselves or in your dealings with your clients…

Rather be reckless and spendthrift, pouring out your talent to all whom it can be out of service! Throw it away, waste it, and in the spending it will be increased. Do not keep a watchful eye lest you slip and give away a little bit of what you might have sold. Do not censor your thoughts to gain a wider audience. Like love, talent is only useful in its expenditure, and it is never exhausted. Certain it is that man must eat; so set what price you must on your service. But never confuse the performance, which is great, with the compensation, be it money, power, or fame, which is trivial.

…The job is there, you will see it, and your strength is such, as you graduate… that you need not consider what the task will cost you. It is not enough that you do your duty. The richness of life lies in the performance which is above and beyond the call of duty.

Link Building for Your Network Marketing Business

In the last issue we talked about article marketing and how to use it to promote your network marketing business. In this issue we are going to talk about using link building as an online traffic tactic.

Link building is important for your websiteLink building is the process of building quality, relevant links to your website, which in turn helps your webpages achieve higher ranking in the search engines and drives more traffic to your website, blog or any other page you choose, like your Facebook page or Twitter profile.

To achieve the best results you will want try and get your pages to be listed on the first page of results for your chosen keywords. For this to happen you have to get plenty of incoming links from other websites.

The first step in this process is to create and publish content whether that’s articles, blog posts, tweets, etc. Be sure to incorporate specifically chosen keywords and weave them into the content so that it will be nice and bate for the search engines.

By incorporating proper SEO (search engine optimization) strategies, when someone goes into a search engine to look for something that your business offers, your links will come up in the search engine results.

While structure and keywords are important to keep in mind as you create and add to your website, the most important factor of good SEO for the rest of your website’s life is adding and maintaining backlinks.

Because search engines use backlinks to rate how worthwhile or valuable your site is the more sites that you have linking to your site, the better you will look to the search engines. The end result is that you move up in rank.

While the quantity of the backlinks contributes to your ranking, it is also important to make sure that you maintain high backlink quality as well. Try to avoid having backlinks from sites that have nothing to do with the topic of your website. Also, it’s better to have backlinks coming from other highly ranked sites (as long as they are related to yours).

There are several ways to go about building links.

  • You can definitely do this yourself, however it can be very time consuming and extremely frustrating when you don’t understand the process completely or you don’t have time to learn it.

  • You can invest in software that will do the job for you, but this can be costly, have a significant learning curve and still require a lot of time on your part.

  • You can hire someone to do it for you, just make sure that hire a reputable person for service so that you can be sure you are getting high quality, relevant links for your money.

If you decide to do your own link-building here are a few ways you can get started right away:

  • Manually request links from other websites

  • Submit your site manually to reputable directories

  • Submit articles that link back to your site to article directories

  • Participate in online forums

  • Create profiles and share content on social networking sites

  • Use social bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon etc.

These are just a few of the ways that you can go about increasing the number of links to your website there are many more. There is no doubt that link building is a very important online tactic to include in any marketing plan.

Osteen's Message to Entrepreneurs

believeAs I was reading through this month’s issue of Success Magazine I came across the interview with Joel Osteen. What an amazing guy with an amazing story. You will be hard pressed to find a more positive, enthusiastic person. It is an article well worth the read. In it he shares some advice for entrepreneurs.

Here’s what Joel Osteen has to say:

Keep following the dream that God put in your heart. Believe. Work hard. There may be some difficult seasons, but you have to keep moving forward. Sometimes we say faith is spelled R-I-S-K. Sometimes, you’ve got to risk if you feel a calling deep down. You’ve got to take that step of faith.

“Believe there are great breaks in your future. Believe for explosive blessings, things like the Compaq Center [home of Lakewood Church]. Pray God-sized prayers. You’ve got to pray for big things. You’ve got to believe for big things.

“Put your trust in God, keep being your best and you will get to where you’re supposed to be.”

What great advice? That advice can be applied to all areas of life – relationships, friendships, business… One more thing he said in the article, and I’ll close with this – “You’ve got to step into your own shoes and realize that you’ve got to be who you were made to be.”

Submitting Articles To Establish Credibility

Snoopy writing an articleIn the last post we discussed online marketing and how you can use it build credibility and develop your online presence. Today we are going to focus on article marketing and how you can use this powerful tactic to promote your network marketing business.

As we well know promotion is very important aspect for any business. One of the best free methods of online promotion is writing and submitting articles on the various authority sites, article directories, blogs and other social media platforms.

Article marketing provides (you) the author with the unique opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise on specific topics with others. It has the extra added benefit of elevating the authors authority status in their marketplace.

Not only is article marketing free it’s actually very easy once you get the hang of it.  This is especially true if you have a talent for writing and can still be accomplished even if you don’t, because you can hire someone to write the articles for you.

Article marketing can benefit your business in several ways. Not only can it help make you an authority in your market, it can boost your online credibility and drive traffic to your website. It can also generate back-links and boost your search engine ranking as well.

When it comes to starting an article marketing campaign your three basic steps you must take:

  • The first step is choosing your topic.

  • The second step is researching, outlining and writing your article.

  • The third step is submitting your article for publication and syndication.

Choosing your topic:

When it comes to choosing the topic of your article it will depend on several different factors including what target market you are trying to reach and what is the purpose of the article. Are trying build credibility, promote a product or get back links to your website?

If you are trying to build your online credibility then you will want your topic to be extremely focused on what the market wants. On the other hand if you’re trying to promote a product then you will want make sure that your topic is focused on what that product can do for the consumer. When you’re trying to build back-links to your website then you will need to focus more on carefully chosen keywords designed to rank high in the search engine.

Researching, outlining and writing:

One of the most in parts of crafting articles specifically for marketing purposes is that you make sure you are bringing value and expertise into the marketplace. Unless you are a world-class expert on the subject you are planning to write about it’s a good idea to do your research before you begin the writing process to ensure that you have all of the facts straight before you publish.

Creating an outline is a very good idea because it will give you a clear direction to follow as well as help make the writing process easier. Your outline should include ideas for your introductory paragraph, three to five supporting topic ideas as well as a closing paragraph.

The writing process also includes creating a bio or resource box to attach to your article when submitting it for publication. This whole area of text can actually be one of the most important parts of your article marketing strategy. It should include some vital information about yourself your qualifications and contact information especially a link back to your website that entices people to click through for more information.

Submitting your article:

Once you have completed your article it will be time to submit. There are many different ways you can do this as well. You can publish them on your own website or blog. You can also post them on Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media sites, but for maximum exposure you will want to submit to online directories and authority sites for syndication this way other people can publish your article spreading your message across the Internet.

Build Your Online Credibilty

Credibility wheelIn yesterday’s post we talked about some of the more popular online marketing tactics for your network marketing business. Today we are going to talk more about online marketing and how you can use it build credibility and develop a presence in your marketplace as a go to expert.

Any business owner will tell you building their brand was a crucial part of growing their business and reaching new customers.

In the past businesses were more than willing to spend massive amounts of money on huge advertising campaigns to create brand awareness and attract new customers without blinking an eye, leaving small business owners struggling to survive.

Online marketing has changed all of that and literally leveled the playing field. It has made it possible for experienced networkers and even “newbies” to launch profitable campaigns for little or no money at all. This advertising shift has made it possible for any business to make their presence known to millions of people, locally and globally.

Building a recognizable presence online is an excellent marketing tactic simply because consumers are far more likely to purchase products and services from someone that they know, like and trust.

It doesn’t matter what market you’re in, whether you have you’re selling vitamins or technology it’s important that you position yourself as an authority in that marketplace.  For instance, if you want to promote products related to health and fitness you will need to develop a presence in that market.

The best way to build credibility in any given marketplace is to share high-quality informative content with its consumers. There are many ways to do this, including; starting a blog creating, joining social networks like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest, as well as publishing articles, posting on other people’s blogs and joining topic related forums.

The key factor to remember is that people want to know that you’re a real person and they can trust what you say. By sharing your knowledge on a specific subject as frequently as possible you can quickly build your credibility online. Making it far more likely that people will purchase the products and services you recommend.

Here are a few more quick tips that will help you build online credibility:

  • Get your name as a domain.

  • Set up a professional looking website or blog that tells people who you are and what you do.

  • Create professional profiles on social networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, so that people can easily find you.

  • Set up a Facebook business page to build your brand.

  • Publish a book on Amazon or Amazon Kindle. This is fairly easy to do these days and gives you instant credibility.

  • Set up a YouTube channel and share your knowledge via video.

  • If you have an offline business or office get listed on Google places and in Google maps so that people can navigate straight to your door.

Building credibility online is an incredibly powerful tactic. It is all about making your presence known, showing consumers that you’re a real person and that you know what you’re talking about.

Keep an eye out for the next post. We will be talking about article marketing and how you can use this powerful tactic to promote your business, products and services.

Greatest Obstacle to Success

Fear of FailureDid you know that the greatest obstacle to success in adult life is the fear of failure?

Taken to its extreme, we become totally pre-occupied with not making a mistake and seeking security above all other considerations.

The experience of the fear of failure is in the words of “I can’t.” We feel it in the front of the body, starting at the solar plexus and moving up to the rapid beating of the heart, rapid breathing and a tight throat.

The second major fear that interferes with performance is the fear of rejection. We learn this when our parents make their love conditional upon our behavior. If we do what pleases them, they give us love and approval. If we do something they don’t like, they withdraw their love and approval-which we interpret as rejection.

Brian Tracy created a special gift for you to help you build unshakeable self-esteem, overcome fear, and achieve everything you’ve ever dreamt of with confidence.

But first, I want to share with you why certain people behave in certain ways.

As adults, people who are raised with conditional love become preoccupied with the opinions of others. Many men develop “Type A” behavior which is characterized by hostility, suspicion and an obsession with performance to some undetermined high standard.

This is expressed in the attitude of “I have to” and is associated with the feeling that “I have to work harder and accomplish more in order to please the boss” who has become a surrogate parent.

More than 99% of adults experience both of these fears of failure and rejection. They are caught in the trap of feeling, “I can’t,” but “I have to,” “I have to,” but “I can’t.”

The antidote to these fears is the development of courage, character and self-esteem. The opposite of fear is actually self-love and self-respect. Acting with courage in a fearful situation is simply a technique that boosts our regard for ourselves to such a degree that our fears subside and lose their ability to affect our behavior and our decisions.

I want to help you develop greater self-esteem and unshakeable self-confidence which will enable you to overcome fear and forge onward toward achieving everything you set your mind to. That’s where Brian’s special gift comes in.

Download and listen to his complimentary audio MP3, Self-Confidence and Personal Power, and learn how it attributes to your personal success in all aspects of your life.

This 30-minute power-packed audio MP3 outlines precisely the direct relationship between success and self-confidence and how you can immediately begin to implement the mental laws of personal power that will enable you to become unstoppable.

Listen to this audio here.

Here’s a quick overview of what it covers:

  • How to develop the right “attitude of mind” to live a successful life

  • The mental laws which contribute to all success and happiness in life

  • The relationship between your thoughts and actions

  • How to overcome fear and achieve your goals with self-assurance

Popular Online Marketing Tactics

Internet Marketing for Network MarketingLet’s go over some of the most popular online marketing tactics and discuss what they can do for your network marketing business. Please keep in mind that each one of these tactics requires time and effort and sometimes even a monetary investment to implement.

- Search engine optimization (SEO)

This is the process of maximizing the number of visitors to a website by making sure that the site remains high on the search results returned by the search engine for any given keywords.

Free traffic from the search engines can literally be a gold mine, so spending some time optimizing your website for high traffic keywords is a very important tactic.

- Article marketing

This is a type of advertising in which businesses write short, informative articles on specific topics and then submit those articles to directories and other online publications. This marketing tactic can help you build your online presence, provide you with instant credibility in your marketplace and help you get more traffic to your website all at the same time.

- Email marketing

We have all seen this online marketing tactic before. It is where a business collects email addresses from their website visitors and uses them to send out their marketing message. While email marketing isn’t as popular as it once was this tactic can still be extremely effective, as long as it’s implemented properly.

- Link building

This is the process of building quality, relevant links from other websites to your website. This tactic goes hand-in-hand with search engine optimization and will help your website rank better in the search engines and bring in more free traffic.

- Referral marketing

This is a method of promotion has been around for generations. Until recently it was referred to as word-of-mouth advertising, but now it is often known as affiliate marketing. This tactic involves recruiting other people (current and past customers) to promote your products and services for you in exchange for earning a commission or discount.

- Social media marketing

Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social networks are becoming increasingly popular promotional tools. They can be used to attract more customers, build brand awareness and create customer loyalty. This tactic yield massive results in a very short amount of time when implemented properly.

 - Pay per click or pay per view advertising

This method encompasses a wide variety of options including running banner ads, contextual ads, Google ads as well as Facebook and other social media ads. This tactic is where you pay the advertiser a specific amount of money every time someone clicks on your ad. This can be very effective. But, be prepared to invest both time and money to yield results.

These are only a few of the online marketing tactics that can be used when developing a solid online marketing plan. We will go more in depth about each of these topics in future issues, so be sure to look for your next issue soon. We will be talking more about online marketing and how you can use it build credibility and develop a presence in your marketplace.

A Network Marketing Company That Would Suit You

The Road to SuccessMany people label everyone who joins more than one MLM company a ‘junkie’. It is true that there are junkies that goes around recruiting their friends when he tries COMPANY A, dies a natural death after a while and joins COMPANY B. He starts talking to the same friends how good COMPANY B is and always talk bad about COMPANY A. Then he quits COMPANY B after running into some struggles and joins COMPANY C, does the same thing promoting C while talking bad about A and B and goes on and on.

No. I am not teaching you to be a junkie.

I have explained in the previous posts that even the ‘best company’ in the world would not be suitable for everyone. I may LOVE supplements for my health and buy it from the ‘best health supplement opportunity in the world’ but my passion is being on the Internet! Don’t get me wrong, the supplement company would have a FANTASTIC TEAM, a SOLID COMPANY BACKGROUND, and even an UNBELIEVABLE COMPENSATION PLAN. But I prefer to sell digital products. I don’t care if I don’t get to meet or socialize as many people in person on my Internet MLM, I don’t even care if I don’t operate at an office! I am making money at my Internet MLM.

I think we get the picture now…

Hello my name is OpportunityHere is another scenario. What do you do when you are already in one MLM and a good friend approaches you for another? Do you refuse? Remember, you must not treat your MLM business like a RELIGION. I don’t refuse because I will always find benefits in every MLM company that I join. I may like the products there. I can SHARE these products (for example, supplements) to friends who do not believe in buying on the Internet! No single company will cover the ENTIRE market so we have to be realistic. I may even join that company so I can build relationships with them and get them to try my own MLM products too! If I don’t keep an eye out for other opportunities, I don’t feel that I am a good business man. But you must FOCUS on one business, some may say. Yes, I focus on one, but I also open the door to many other potential customers too.

Always be open to new opportunities and cross sell! That’s where you put the ‘network’ in network marketing. But don’t make the mistake of joining every opportunity just to get people because it costs you time and money and only join different MLMs if you see a tangible benefit.

If you don’t make it in your first MLM, don’t despair! People make mistakes and they (hopefully) grow wiser the next time they choose again. This is what I hope for all who read this book because you must never give up when you fail the first time. Most people don’t make it in their first MLM but they might succeed in the second or third.

There is No Such Thing as a Perfect MLM

MLM planningIn spite of all there that has been discussed, certain companies may claim they are the best. Different companies market different products and they all claim to be the best in their line. Each claim to be selling the best skin care, nutrition, aromatherapy, insurance programs, investment opportunities or even online digital products.

Let’s face it. There is no such thing as a perfect MLM, just as there is no such thing as a perfect church or perfect government. MLM companies are just like normal companies in the sense that there will always be management problems, staff problems, cash flow problems, shipment difficulties and product faults.

Take the skin care industry for example. There are many skin care products that have long histories, extensive research, powerful testimonials, and so on. But no matter how good the skin care is, they will not benefit EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THE PLANET. We are all different. Some has drier skin. Some are more sensitive. You can’t prescribe a drug that will cure everything for everyone.

Likewise with teams. Certain teams are more suitable for younger crowds with all the excitement and the hoopla going on. Others are for a more mature crowd. So, pick the company that best suits you.

There is No Such Thing as a Perfect MLM

I must at least try

In June 1985, two British mountaineers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates made the first-ever climb of the West Face of the 21,000 foot snow-covered Siula Grande mountain in Peru. It was an exceptionally tough assault – but nothing compared to what was to come. Early in the descent, Simpson fell and smashed his right knee. Yates could have abandoned him but managed to find a way of lowering him down the mountain in a series of difficult drops blinded by snow and cold. Then Simpson fell into a crevasse and Yates eventually had no choice but to cut the rope, utterly convinced that his friend was now dead.

Touching the voidIn his subsequent book on the climb entitled “Touching The Void”, Joe Simpson wrote:

“As I gazed at the distant moraines, I knew that I must at least try. I would probably die out there amid those boulders. The thought didn’t alarm me. It seemed reasonable, matter-of-fact. That was how it was. I could aim for something. If I died, well, that wasn’t so surprising, but I wouldn’t have just waited for it to happen. The horror of dying no longer affected me as it had in the crevasse. I now had the chance to confront it and struggle against it. It wasn’t a bleak dark terror any more, just fact, like my broken leg and frostbitten fingers, and I couldn’t be afraid of things like that. My leg would hurt when I fell and when I couldn’t get up I would die.”

The survival of Yates himself was extraordinary. That Simpson somehow found a way of climbing out of the crevasse after 12 hours and then literally crawled and dragged himself six miles back to camp, going three days and nights without food or drink, losing three stone, and contracting ketoacidosis in the process, would be the stuff of heroic fiction if it was not so true. Indeed, six operations and two years later, he was even back climbing. All because, against all the odds, he tried …

How To Approach Your Prospects: Part 2

Networking Swaps

In certain business networking circles, you are able to build a list of referrals for one another even if you are in a different line of work.

There are Business networking organizations like BNI (which is one of the biggest networking organization in the world) are designed to facilitate this.

Of course, all this depends on the rapport and friendship between you and the other members.

Remember that must refer business to those other members and not just sit there and wait for people to give you leads.

Online Prospecting

There are many ways you can acquire prospects online without spending money on Google AdWords.

You can drop by people’s blogs, go to forums or build a mailing list of prospects in order to build relationships and meet new people.

Social networking sites like MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, MyBlogLog and many other web 2.0 sites are a great place to meet new people with similar interests and make friends with them.

You must be very careful of one thing, NEVER, NEVER EVER SPAM forums, blog comments or other people’s email. It is a very quick way to get a bad reputation or banned from those forums.

The American Dream

Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely about making profits and building a legacy. But, this story helped me to keep things in perspective. Hopefully, it will do the same for you…

An American businessman was standing at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish.

“How long did it take you to catch them?” the American asked.

“Only a little while” the Mexican replied.

“Why don’t you stay out longer and catch more fish?” the American then asked.

“I have enough to support my family’s immediate needs” the Mexican said.

“But” the American then asked, “What do you do with the rest of your time?”

The Mexican fisherman said: “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take a siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos. I have a full and busy life, senor.”

The American scoffed: “I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds you could buy a bigger boat and, with the proceeds from the bigger boat, you could buy several boats. Eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman, you would sell directly to the consumers, eventually opening your own can factory. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise.”

The Mexican fisherman asked: “But senor, how long will this all take?”

To which the American replied: “15-20 years.”

“But what then, senor?”

The American laughed and said: “That’s the best part. When the time is right, you would announce an IPO – an Initial Public Offering – and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You would make millions.”

“Millions, senor? Then what?”

The American said slowly: “Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take a siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos…”

How To Approach Your MLM Prospects: Part 1

Here are a couple of prospecting methods that you must be aware of if you want to survive in the network marketing jungle… after all having effective prospecting methods is your network marketing lifeline!

Child cold calling prospectsCold Calling & Invitations

Cold calling (and going door-to-door) is one of the MOST INEFFECTIVE and DIFFICULT form of obsolete prospecting method in the 21st century. Some sales people might debate that this is still viable, but let’s be realistic…

  • YOU don’t like to receive phone calls

  • Cold calling has a lot of resistance and people turn their ears away if you are a stranger

  • People don’t like being sold things that they don’t need

  • They don’t even need to see YOU – a total stranger!

Invitations on the other hand might still work if it is done correctly. You can invite your friends to an event or a tea-party but make sure that your INTENTION is very clear when you invite him or her. People are not stupid and they can sense your intentions if you have promised them otherwise.

In other words, don’t trick them into coming to your network marketing prospecting meeting!

Classified Advertising & Google AdWords

One important thing about advertising is to ALWAYS go for direct response advertising. Do NOT burn your money on advertising that does NOT solicit direct response and a measurable way to calculate your expenditure, leads contacting you and conversion to sales!

When you advertise your opportunity on classified advertising, make sure you have a website or a phone number that they can contact you that MUST lead the prospect to the next phase of your sales funnel.

Ad Impression > Direct Response/ Lead Capture > Build the relationship > Pitch the right offer > Close sale or Follow up until the sale is closed.

The problem with people is that they dump all sorts of advertising without leading to the second phase which is the direct response or lead capture phase. They think just because they leave a website or a phone number (like leaving name cards all over town) they will get a lot of people to sign up.

With Google AdWords, you must make sure you have a system that is designed to deal with those leads and execute the steps above.

Understand That Leaders Are Not Born

Investing in your leadership is of utmost importance

Leader directing their teamIf you are asked to attend trainings repeatedly and listen to your upline. If your upline is not qualified, then keep going upline until you find someone who can coach you or mentor you.

Once you have downlines under you, you must be prepared to be a leader and duplicate what your upline has taught you. DUPLICATION is the key to building a long term business because your downlines are able to do the same thing you are doing. Many successful leaders in MLM are fantastic speakers on the stage and powerful trainers in the field and even write books on how to succeed.

One of the biggest mistakes a new distributor usually makes are buying a ton of books thinking they will be well equipped to go ‘out there’ and create a sponsoring explosion. You may try to imitate your leader, talk like them, look confident or even walk like them. But the tricky part is duplicating the charisma or having the same influence.

Even after reading all the books on self-improvement, the tactics might not work because you don’t have the same charm as the author!

I am not saying don’t read books or buy books. Factual information or education is usually more helpful in making a good decision. I have compiled a reading list at the end of this book that will give good facts. But trying to become like another person and using his or her ‘techniques’ will often lead to disappointment with the book itself! They become disillusioned and go on to buy another ‘key to success in MLM’ book and the vicious cycle repeats itself again. Eventually they become disillusioned with books and they will stop reading all together.

KEY POINT TO REMEMBER:

LEADERS ARE NOT BORN, THEY ARE DEVELOPED OVER TIME. THOSE WHO SUCCEED IN MLM WILL HAVE TO PAY THE PRICE OF LEARNING AND GROWING. THOSE WHO SUCCEED QUICKLY IN MLM HAS ALREADY PAID THE PRICE OR WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO FIND DOWNLINES WHO HAD ALREADY PAID THE PRICE.

ARE YOU PREPARED TO PAY THE PRICE?

Posture Is Everything

Woman with a confident postureOne of the most important aspects of surviving in the network marketing world is to develop the ALPHA mentality in your business. This is very important because nobody remembers who came in SECOND!

It is human nature to look towards a leader and if you are not the leader of your organization, you are most likely following someone else’s direction and you are not in charge of your business.

Bring a leader in network marketing requires you to prospect effectively. After all, you want to position yourself as an EXPERT and not as a PEDDLER!

Read this line very carefully:

Nobody who bought a drill actually wanted a drill.

They wanted a hole.

Therefore, if you want to sell drills, you should ADVERTISE information about making holes – NOT information about drills!
– Perry Marshall

Remember, it is pointless to sell someone something they don’t want and appear like a sleazy salesman in the process.

Ways To Develop The Winning Posture

Here are a few tips on how to develop the winning Posture:

  • Dress sharply and ALWAYS be natural

  • Don’t treat everyone around you as your prospect – the last thing you want to do is to appear desperate for their money

  • EDUCATE people on the viability of using your product and become a living testimonial rather than pushing the products in their face

  • Diversify your prospecting methods by going online

  • Invest in your education about the Network marketing Profession.

  • Invest in prospecting tools that you can use to leverage your business with!

Posture Is Everything

Working With The Right People

How strong is your uplineSupportive Uplines And Sidelines

Are your uplines supportive people? There are people who will be there for you through thick and thin. There are even sidelines that are willing to do the same for you and your network.

Having these people on your team will definitely grow your business and the ability to leverage on them is very important.

Here is one thing that will help you to understand whether the team you are joining will work out to your advantage or not…

Let’s say you have an excellent networking tool that you can use for prospecting online. Does your upline support you using it or does he or she restricts you to ‘following the system’ given by the company?

You be the judge of whether this will work for you or against you.

Speedy Support

Network marketing companies with poor support will get in your way of success.

You see, there are company support staff that are willing to assist you when the products are faulty. It will affect your network even if they are downline because somewhere down the line, someone’s income will be affected if they are not good at handling a situation (like a faulty product or filling in the registration form).

There are some companies that even construct an online prospecting system that will help a new rep to get up to speed. But if the new downline does not know how to utilize it, it will affect him and his sponsor because they are not maximizing the system to recruit more effectively!

If your company has a solid or speedy support team, you will be able to leverage on their support! Otherwise, you will need to manually coach your downlines on how to deal with administrative work!

Joining Networking Groups Outside

People meetingLife exists outside network marketing groups. One of the best ways to touch base with other people and get more fresh leads is to join other networking groups such a business networks or Rotary clubs.

Even your church or religious organizations are great places to meet new people (but make sure your intention is sincere because God is ‘watching’).

One of the biggest problems with some network marketing reps is that some of them know NOTHING but network marketing (and network marketing jargon) to the point that they do not know how to relate to the outside world!

If you join networks such as those mentioned above, you will be able to relate to people in the ‘real world’ and you will be able to connect with them and expand your networks!
